New Mexico offers some excellent elk hunting opportunities. Most of our elk hunts
take place in South Western New Mexico in the world famous Gila wilderness or
on private ranches on the Gila and Cibola National Forests. The Gila and adjacent
national forests and private ranches have built a reputation for large trophy bulls
and thriving elk herds. The archery season runs in September during the rut, while
the bulls are bugling and gathering cows. Hunting techniques range from sitting blinds
over water to calling in big bulls.
Our muzzleloader hunts take place in mid-October and provide great opportunities to hunt
primitive weapon only units where bulls are never hunted with rifles. This provides
hunters the chance to chase giant bulls. Modern scoped Muzzleloader hunts range from
during the rut to bulls in the winter range. Our rifle hunts offer a great opportunity
to harvest a good bull. These hunts run in mid-October during the middle to the end of
the rut. These hunts have a high success rate. With such a variety of elk hunts available
in New Mexico we encourage you to contact us with questions and options.
